Since I was a kid, I have this dream of seeing the Burj Al Arab up close. Who wouldn’t? Standing tall and being known as the world’s sole 7-star hotel, it has left a mark on my memory. Fast forward to 20 years later, I am now an expat here in Dubai and I did not miss the chance of making the Burj dream come true.
Recently, I visited the Madinat Jumeirah which is located in Al Sufouh Road. It is a “souk (an Arab marketplace)” where you can dine, shop and admire the beauty of UAE culture. This is also the place to go if you want to see the Burj Al Arab up close without actually staying at the hotel and spending crazy lot of money.
Since it was my first visit, I did not waste any minute and roamed around the souk. It still amazes me how beautiful the Arab culture is. From the colorful carpets to a unique abra ride, it was one awesome experience.
After a fun walk, I decided that it’s time to see the Burj Al Arab and it did not disappoint. I’m still in awe.
Having to see it in person proves that dreams do come true. You just need to make it happen. Be on the grind. And by doing so, a little girl’s dream has turned into reality.
